As a structural cornerstone and core values of the integration concept, it is important to us that we enable international employees to arrive well in Germany and, in doing so, comprehend and consider as holistically as possible all issues with which the new colleagues are confronted in the first weeks / months / years.
A job shadowing session before the official start of employment has proven to be a particularly helpful element, on the one hand to enable mutual acquaintance and on the other hand to avoid raising false expectations. The provision of living space also represents an essential cornerstone of our concept.
In the first few days after arriving in Germany, the focus is on very practical issues, such as how new employees from abroad receive cash until their first salary payment; who accompanies them to the bank, to the registration office; is the refrigerator stocked for the first few days; how do people get to work in the morning.
But larger issues are also structural components of the integration concept, e.g., how can the family be caught up; what possibilities are there for recognizing professional qualifications; can a driver's license be recognized, etc.? Our focus is both on the integration of the international employees themselves and on the environment, they find at work on site, i.e., the intercultural competence of the managers and teams on site.
If desired, we will work with all parties involved and for the employer to design an operational integration management system which, in accordance with the pilot standard of the German Competence Center for International Professionals in the Health and Care Professions (DKF) and the German Association for the Elderly (KDA), includes the following requirements and bullet points of the "Welcome Culture & Integration Toolbox":
- Preface / Introduction
- Preparation after recruitment
- Arrival and the first days
- Relocation management support
- Organizing the recognition process
- Establish integration management
- Adapt induction
- Accompany team building
- Expand competencies
- Intercepting conflicts
- Sponsorships and mentoring
- Enabling social participation
- Dealing with termination and poaching
